    • Property Exceptional. Room extremely beautiful with breathtaking views on all sides with a constant music of a stream flowing. Away from the noise of city.
    • We stayed in the Teanest Annexe away from the main complex. It has basic amenities. We were lucky to have a week of beautiful weather - gorgeous sunny mornings and starry skies in the evening. The view was just breathtaking and the area was quiet enough to rest and recharge as opposed to hustle and bustle cities in India. We loved the tea plantation walks and morning birdwatching provided by a Teanest employee. It's important to mention that Teanest Annexe had a young employee who was always very polite, responsive and tried his best to make our stay enjoyable. We were saddened that we couldn't have the breakfast in the main complex due to it being fully booked as the breakfast in Annexe was not great (partially microwaved food and the cleanliness was slightly alarming).I suggest staying in the bigger room which gives you more privacy behind the windows and a space between kitchen and the bedroom. You might see the Indian gray mongoose out of your window laying under the sun, birds singing, Indian gaurs feasting in between tea bushes and tea plantation employees picking the leaves. Hush and you experience the nature coming to you.Of course, be prepared of troublemakers in the back yard - macaques who are curious, run all over the place and might steal something you own, therefore the windows should be closed if their group comes.
    • The location and quietness at stay is excellent!

    Cons -

    • No one to respond to call on intercom ever. Provisions such as towel, tea coffee etc inadequate for three guest . Disappointing for such a beautiful place. Can be managed much better.
    • Imagine paying for a one week stay in this place and you arrive to a nicely made bed - but the linens were USED, dirty and not washed. On top of that, on 2 separate days we caught a cockroach roaming on the floor - these insects potentially carry diseases and the fact that the kitchen was right in between two Teanest rooms in Annexe house, it's debatable if the kitchen was clean. The 2 tables in Teanest Annexe dining room were constantly dirty (breadcrumbs and other food pieces not cleaned from the tables after different guests ate there)We were just so disappointed with the dirty sheets and raised this with the employee right away and asked for new washed sheets. They apologised but the cleaner knew what they were doing and it's just disgusting and unacceptable. It's not a cheap hostel but a hotel for which we paid over 520 EUR at the time. This place has so much potential, it's a pity you let the basic cleanliness ruin the experience. Nevertheless, for new guests - just check the sheets. The place surrounding Teanest was the highlight of our trip in India!
    • The room had a water pump besides which made noises.

My first solo vacation and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay.It was just the place I was looking for, beautiful, wonderful views around and far from the city hustle and bustle.I stayed for 2 nights at the room called Golden Tips. It's one of the rooms within the main building and very comfortable. Breakfast was included in my stay and had a wonderful hot spread on both days. Lunch, I was out, hence didn't have. Dinner again was at the resort and since they make everything fresh, they take orders by evening 6/6.30. Loved the home cooked feel.I booked cabs on both days from the resort itself. Vishnu helped me here a lot. The staffs at the property are courteous and very helpful. When I reached on 9th March morning, Vishnu was at the reception and he really made me feel welcome till the time my room was getting ready. I even ended up hurting my leg on the very first day ( careless of me!). Ranjit and David made sure I got a Volini spray and a crepe bandage. And I have to thank Raghu for clicking my pictures in the tea garden right across the road.I would surely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and a wonderful stay in Coonoor.

I think the breakfast menu can be changed every day as in my 2 days of stay, it had the same things except for 2 items may be. Example, first day there were poha and upma and second day ragi sewaiyan and pongal. Rest all same. May be have puri subji one day, idli sambar one day - In India there's no dearth of breakfast options!

it was in the middle of tea plantation, but that‘s it

be warned that the room you book does jot look anywhere near the pictures - and when we asked they said they had to rekove the furniture. They offered a refund which of course never came. Heating was ridiculous small

Loved the location, food, hospitality and the property. Would highly recommend Teanest coonoor

Everything. Especially the staff dealing with the rude english man

The rude english man who complained about the taxi fare he paid up to the staff who had nothing to do about it.

Beautiful place with amazing views! Located in the middle of the tea plantations making it ideal for dreamy morning and evening walks (we enjoyed the 5 pm walk very much). Good food and breakfast.

The reception staff were friendly and meant well but came across as young, bored and unprofessional. For example leaving the reception unattended, constantly distracted on their phones or serving dinner on a different time than agreed. Small things you wouldn't expect in a place of this price range and that easily can be improved with a more senior manager present. For the rest, we loved our stay at the Teanest.

Just about the most incredible, cosy, charming english cottage experience, with an amazing garden and lovely walk through tea plantations, and a lovely conservatory for meals. We fell in love with everything, including the hammock. It was all soo beautiful, would have loved to stay for a month! Also very nice toiletries, esp the body lotion.

We would have loved to go on the birdwatching tour and evening tea walk, but unfortunately, both were cancelled due to the weather.

The staff were really polite and helpful. They accommodated our request for making the arrangements for my son's birthday. The food was really good.

The listing told that the room will have a king size and queen size bed. But there was only a double cot in addition to the king size bed. So we found it uncomfortable. Also we were not warned of monkeys in the property.

    7JhalaPosted on: 12-28-2024

The intercom was out of order and at most of the time there was no one at the reception. Since it was cold, even on request the staff didn't add more wood fire to the fire place

The reception area didn't have enough place to accomodate the guests

Beautiful location although rural. Quiet, friendly staff, nice vintage style rooms.

We stayed in the annex which is quite different to the main site and seemed a little forgotten about. Sadly I had a large electric shock from a plug too which was painful and scary as I was pregnant.

    6VPosted on: 12-26-2024

Breakfast was quite good, and the spread was also good. The staff were friendly too. The location is very nice away from all the noise and with good views of the tea estate.

The price charged is quite high and one expects some good view from the window but unfortunately there is none as on one side we have the verandah and with the staff walking around all the time and on the other side it is just a wall. The beautiful part which is showed in the pics belongs to the owner and is out of bounds for the guests. Also, the rooms which have a bit of privacy is only two and almost the same price as the one with without any views. If one expects the room with good views this is not the right property but if one wants only peace and quiet and good views nearby this place is good. Finally, there was a guided tea Plantation Walk but the guide was interested in showing around for only two guests who may have tipped him more or maybe he expects a good tip as they were NRIs from the looks but sadly he doesn't realise that resident Indians nowadays tip more generous than NRI or Foreigner's.

Friendly and helpful staff, Good view, good food,

Both teanest and annex are very secluded and away from market. It's tough to find a commuteEven going to local market costs 500 to and from by rickshaw

This place is ideal for people who want to be close to the tea gardens. At Tea Nest you can also relax and enjoy the delicious food. The rooms are very clean and have good beds. The gardens are beutifully kept. The Lemon Grass and Hibiscus rooms even have their own veranda.

The Green room is very nice but has not much of a view. However you can sit in the garden or in the lobby and then we it is fine.

Fabulous location with great views of the Nilgiri Hills. We loved the climate as a contrast to the heat and humidity of the coast. The rooms had character and we particularly liked dining in the glass conservatory.

    No, everything was great.

    10DeepaPosted on: 12-6-2024

Perfect location. The guide Azad who conducted the bird watching and tea estate tour was outstanding. It was the highlight of the stay. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

    10SumanaPosted on: 11-28-2024

The location is situated in a beautiful tea estate. It is quiet, relaxing, and perfect for nature-loving folks. The rooms are clean and spacious. There are complimentary cookies (biscuits) to go with your coffee/tea, and they bring other complimentary snacks at 4. Food is very good. The staff is just excellent - helpful and friendly. We loved the bird and tea garden walks with Azad. He was a very knowledgeable naturalist who could spotted many types of birds for us as well as the Malabar giant squirrel! It was really a perfect stay.
